On February 22, the inaugural ceremony was held for Shanghai Bio-Pharmaceutical R&D Outsourcing Base and Shanghai Pudong Bio-Pharmaceutical R&D Outsourcing Service Center. Its aim is to build up an industry branch with the total annual revenue over 2 billion RMB and it is able to attract foreign investment of 5 billion RMB.

It has established an outsourcing alliance with 31 member enterprises and create the service value chain covering all stages during the process of new drug R&D .

It has organized the delegation for bio 2005 and bio2006.

It has published newsletter called Medicine Valley Newsletter with the monograph on outsourcing updates .

It can assist government in policy making on R&D outsourcing.
