My name is Jean Xu and I am currently a rising second-year undergraduate at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.  I am writing to express my interest in possible summer internship opportunities with your company, as I am trying to gain a better grasp of potential science-based career fields. 

 

While I am currently most interested in applying analytical and writing skills to science careers, I am lacking a degree of connection between my general studies in class and applications in the real world.  I hope to make use of any opportunity to establish this link so as to increase my academic drive upon returning to university and to better prepare me for deciding on a major.  I am also seeking an opportunity to work with researchers and gain insight into life in the lab.
