On April 18^th, 2008, the proposal to rename PDBPA as Shanghai Pudong Bio Industry Association was officially approved by voting at the third congress. Then, the rename application was summated to The Civil Affairs Bureau afterwards. Now the application has been officially approved. The renamed industry association will upgrade its function and extend its service area, therefore to build a bridge of communication between enterprises and government.
